Main Sessions:
Jerry Taylor
Amy Sheasby
Ian Cron
Chris Seidman
Breakout Sessions:
"Misreading Kingdom Through Democracy’s Eyes"
Brad Carter
Kingdom living doesn't look like democracy. Join Christians from the Kingdom of Swaziland in examining how our cultural lenses affect our theology. And, in part 2, explore being citizens in God's kingdom through the lens of living in a modern-day political kingdom.
"Kingdom Love Stories: Go and Do Likewise"
David Rubio
Session 1: A creative analysis of an all-time "Kingdom" classic. Experience the story of "The Annoyingly Open-minded Samaritan Do-Gooder" again...for the first time. You'll laugh...you'll cry...and you'll REALLY wish the expert in the law from Luke 10 had kept his big trap shut after verse 28. Sheesh!
"Kingdom Love Stories: Unworthy?"
David Rubio
Session 2: MORE creative analysis of ANOTHER all-time "Kingdom" classic. Feeling low? Come on in and relax. It's time you compared favorably to someone! Yes...young and old alike will marvel at the poor choices, rapid decline & just desserts of the wild-living, wealth squanderer Jesus tells us about in Luke 15. Of course, if you tend to like it when the good guy wins, you MAY want to close your ears for the ending of this one. Just sayin'.
"Avoiding Spiritual Death by Erosion: Lessons from Israel’s Ride on the Down Escalator"
Jeff Walling
"These things occurred as examples for us...” Nobody praised God like Israel! Right? Then how come they ended up dead in the dessert? We have all seen dedicated Christians who seem to lose their grasp on the truth. And we have all had that disturbing thought: "If it happened to them…” How do we avoid not just burn out, but spiritual collapse? Paul’s words were never more true than today. Come take a practical look at his advice on not losing our faith after praising our God.
"Valuable Resources for the Worship Leader"
Peter Wilson
From organizational apps like Planning Center Online to slide and video projection software like ProPresenter, there are numerous tools available to the worship leader. This class will explore the technological and liturgical resources that will enable the worship leader or volunteer to lead in a "more excellent way".
"Trouble in Paradise – Navigating the Perils of Praise Team Ministry"
Shane Coffman
SATB, we're all people. People with our own strengths and weaknesses. How can we best tap into those strengths and work around those weaknesses? What are some of the landmines in our ministries, and what can we do about them? Rather than complain and resign ourselves to the way things are, let's join together and dream about how they might become.
"Let Your Kingdom Come: Living in the Questions"
Suzetta Nutt
This two-part class will explore different ways of entering the Biblical text with children in formational ways rather than reading only for information. Part 1 will focus on the parables of Jesus and how we can enter into each story and the questions that come as we work in God’s word together. Part 2 will focus on spiritual formation practices which encourage children in their developing relationships with God and with each other as they learn the power of “Dwelling in the Word.”
