ZOE Conference 2016: "Stand"
"Stand tall in the faith, be courageous and be strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13)
There’s something about the word "stand". It brings to mind things like strength, hope, confidence and commitment. Our worship songs are filled with references to standing:
“Stand then in His great might.”
“On Christ the solid rock I stand.”
“Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.”
“I stand in awe of You!”
At this year’s ZOE conference we’ll spend some time reflecting on what it means to stand. We’ll join the heavenly hosts standing around the throne, praising the Eternal One for his glory and grace. Scripture says that standing in His presence leads to a life of holiness and service. We’ll explore how our lives can be an embodiment of His kingdom as we stand with the hurting and broken.
In a world that is so often characterized by chaos and fear, we’ll be reminded of the joy and confidence we have in a loving Father – a Father whose reign will never end and who stands with us!
This year’s conference will be rich in creative development. During the breakout sessions, each group will experience hands-on training in developing and executing creative elements for worship. Many of these will be collected and incorporated into our time of worship as the conference ends on Saturday evening. We encourage everyone to make plans to stay through the end of that session.
This conference is for anyone who has a heart for worship! Whether you’re young or old, a worship leader, church member who enjoys worship, teacher, preacher or church leader, this is a conference that will engage your heart, soul, mind and strength. And, with this year’s format, each conference attendee should be able to leave with a notebook full of ideas to take back and use in your own communities of worship.
Keynote speakers this year will include Constance Cherry (author of "The Worship Architect", used in worship training programs all over the world) and Luke Norsworthy (preacher and host of the popular podcast “Newsworthy with Norsworthy”) with art by Jack and Jill Maxwell, and worship led by the ZOE Group.
Leaders of breakout sessions will include Mike Cope, Jill Maxwell, Suzetta Nutt, Jeff Barker (author of The Storytelling Church) and more!
On Friday night, following the main session, we will have a late night worship time led by Michael Stanford and friends.
Come stand with us in the presence and joy of the Lord and in his mighty strength! Join us in Nashville, November 4-5 for the 2016 ZOE Conference at Otter Creek Church. Look for registration to open August 1st! We hope to see you there!
